Melody is a new artist with a new sound. She is destined to bless those who take the time to listen. Accompanied by live musicians on her debut CD, “The Reason”, this talented young lady also penned all 10 tracks on this project. The musicians showed their skills with arrangement that is pleasing and palatable to the ears. On this CD you will be treated with a taste of Jazz, R&B, Funk and Traditional gospel all done in her own vocal styling. All the songs are based on scriptures of the bible and one cannot help but hear her passion in each note that she sings. Originally from Detroit, MI, Melody’s vast musical background leads her to this point of delivering one of the freshest CDs I have heard in recent years. Some of her musical inspirations include: Ella Fitzgerald, Mary J. Blige, Mahalia Jackson, Tramaine Hawkins and Chaka Khan. God gave a lot of us the ability to sing, but what makes the difference is the way that it is used and Melody surely captured the essence of a true artist on this recording. Some of the tracks that stands out on this CD include the title track, “The Reason”, “Walk with Me”, “Your Are The Word” and “I lift My Hands.” This is one of those CDs that should be played over and over again…thumbs up to Melody!
